Our story

My name is Justin Morris, but I go by 'Diver'. My goal has always been to create a community of like-minded individuals who share a vision for positive change. Diver's Community CIC began with small homeless support projects in Birmingham, funded by generous donations on JustGiving.

Before this, in 2015, I volunteered in Africa, working in schools, colleges, and universities to help young people build CVs and hosting a careers fair for potential employers. It was an amazing experience!

After returning from Africa, I pursued a career in support work for young people in a residential setting. After a few years in this role, I decided to become a teaching assistant. Although I was focused on my career, I remained passionate about supporting my community, particularly when I saw homeless individuals in the areas I frequented.

I continued my efforts by raising money for survival kits for rough sleepers. These kits included essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, face wipes, sanitary towels, water, breakfast bars, nail clippers, mints, and deodorant. As demand and community interaction grew, I realized the need to expand these efforts, leading to the formation of Diver's Community CIC.

I recognized that this mission is bigger than any one person; it’s about community. I began building a team of passionate individuals committed to making a difference. Now, a dedicated group of us work tirelessly to develop projects and find innovative ways to support our communities. Each team member contributes something unique and valuable to our efforts in supporting the community. Every day, more people are reaching out, eager to join the movement and be part of the change.
